Year 1 (Home Learning) – Tuesday 24th November

Welcome Back Year 1,

We hope that you had a fantastic day learning from home yesterday!

A big well done to those of you who emailed your work to: yearone@lingsprimary.org.uk
It was wonderful to see you working so hard and setting the standard “2020-style” – from home!

Below you will find your activities for today – make sure you email your work to us at:
yearone@lingsprimary.org.uk

Phonics

Here is a clip of Mrs Tucker showing you how we teach Phonics at Lings:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_ioLx3wtKcs

We teach Phonics in groups in Year 1 – Miss Simons, Mrs Brookes/Mrs Roberts and Mrs Sargent each have a Phonics group.

Ask your child which Phonics group they are in and follow the appropriate planning below.
If you are unsure of which Phonics group they are in, then please email us at: yearone@lingsprimary.org.uk

Literacy

I wonder what adventures Mrs Armitage will go on today?

Read the next pages to find out what happens next …

Do you know where the chain is on a bike? Why did her hands get so dirty?

If you or anyone else in your house has a bicycle, then have a look at it.

If not, have a look at the picture below.

Today we would like you to label a picture of the bicycle and name all the parts (drawing linked to Art – activity found below).

Do you know how a bike works? Can you tell someone how to ride a bicycle?

See you tomorrow for the next part of the story.

Maths

Starter:

Mrs Armitage went to the bicycle shop again and counted how many tricycles there were.

She counted five (5) tricycles.

How many wheels were there all together on the five (5) tricycles?

Can you record your findings?

Main Activity:

Watch this video from White Rose: https://vimeo.com/456849000

Work through the problems to complete the lesson.

Have a go at completing this sheet: https://resources.whiterosemaths.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/07/Y1-Autumn-Block-1-D10-Introduce-and-2019.pdf

Art

Create an observational drawing.

Can you draw a bicycle?

If you have a bike, sit in front of it and draw what you see.

If you do not have a bicycle, then use the picture and look carefully to draw what you see.

We hope that you enjoy your activities and have a lovely day,

Miss Simons, Mrs Brookes and Mrs Roberts : )
