Tuesday 12th May – Year 5

Good morning Year 5 – I hope you are all well.

Great bloggers and e mailers yesterday were Dan, Evie, Mason, Leon, Sadia, Simar, Logan, Dhanshri, Alex, Aamirat, Zain and Tanisa – well done. Remember to respond to any questions I’ve replied to you.

Here are your tasks for today:

Something to discuss with your family and tell us your response:

English

Using your plan from yesterday, it is time to write your non-chronological report. As this should involve more than just writing (pictures, diagrams etc), it may be easier to complete this on paper and e mail us a photograph of your work via the Year 5 e mail:

yearfive@lingsprimary.org.uk

Remember that it should include details about the following topics: theatre, government, Olympics, clothing and important events.

If this is not possible and you just want to complete the writing on the blog, remember the following:

  • Take care with punctuation, especially basic punctuation such as capital letters and full stops.
  • The amount of writing should reflect what we normally expect in a 40-50 minute writing session (your plan should already be done).
  • As there are specific topic areas, we should definitely see paragraphs in your writing.

Maths

What can you remember about angles on a straight line?

The following video will help:

Now try these questions on your own:

Art

Last week we began looking at the artwork of Andy Warhol and some of you created some fantastic versions of his work. One of the techniques he used was to use different colours on the same image to create a Pop art effect. There are many more examples of his work on the internet but here are some examples:

Create your own version of this effect – you can use whatever media you choose. It doesn’t have to be pictures of a person – it can be any everyday object of your choice. Maybe like this!

Be creative!!

From,

Mrs Millard, Mrs Leeming and Mrs Munro XX

          Double check your Maths.
          32 + 53 + 34 = ?
          Then subtract that from 180.

    Good afternoon Mrs Millard,
    Discussion
Someone could have hacked into their email and then they could have sent the picture to everybody. It could also be a fake place to go to. I would tell an adult and my friend to see if they had sent it.

I have been doing my non-chronological report this morning. I did’t blog yesterday but I planned my report on paper.
