RE – Thursday 24th June

Today we are learning about the Four Noble Truths and why they are important to Buddhists.

Watch this short video to find out about them:

What are the Four Noble Truths?

Think about: Have there been times when you have wanted things which you don’t need.  Did you always get them?  What reasons were given?  How did you feel?

Imagine that you had a number on your table at school.  If you have number 1 they will have an extra 5 minutes play, Number 2 an extra 7 minutes play, Number 3, an extra 10 minutes play and Number 4 no minutes play.

Is this fair? How does it feel to have more or less than others?

  • Buddha would say that if we always want what other people have, we will never be happy.
  • We should always be happy with what we have even if you got no prize!
  • You should always think about what other things you have and how lucky you are
  • If all people did this the world would be happy.

Write about – What advice do you think Buddha might have for us today?
