Read the following diary by Hermia:
Dear Diary,
I am so angry. I cannot believe what has happened! My father wants me to marry Demetrius but I want to marry Lysander. Today we went to see Theseus. He told me that I have to marry Demetrius, become a nun or die. I really do not want to become a nun and I certainly do not want to die or marry Demetrius. He is so ignorant and just ignores Helena’s feelings. He is horrible. The only one I could ever love is Lysander. I don’t understand what my father sees in Demetrius- he is horrible to Helena. Lysander is much nicer and kinder; he is just as rich and as strong as Demetrius. I wish my father could see it from my viewpoint.
Lysander wants us to run away together tonight. I am supposed to meet him in the woods and then we will go to his Aunt’s house, where we will be away from Athens and we will be able to get married and be free. I am really excited and happy about going with Lysander but I am so scared that we will be caught and I’m scared of the consequences we might face if my father finds out. I will miss my father even though I disagree with him and I will miss my best friend Helena as well. I told her about our plan. I presume that she is glad that I am going so that maybe Demetrius will fall in love with her. I really hope that she doesn’t tell Demetrius or my father about our plan, otherwise I will be in even more trouble than I already am!

Here is an example of one paragraph that you could write:
I believe that Hermia should obey her father and marry Demetrius. I think this because fathers are very important and therefore Hermia should listen to what her dad has said. It is also clear that Hermia loves her father (even though he is being quite cruel). Will the love of Lysander ever compare to the love of a father?
