Year 5- Tuesday 24th November

English

Reread the text from yesterday.

There are some questions about the structure on the second slide.

tuesday english

Have a look at the non-chronological text (and any others you have found)

What features do they all have?   Make a list of the features that most non-chronological texts have-  think about the structure,  but also about the language used.

Maths

Watch the video about factors, then try the questions on the worksheet below.

Geography

Look through the slides and watch the video links about time zones and biomes.

    1) The author has used a question for the sub-heading because he only wants one question and the answer is there. 2) I think the colour was used for the background because it wants it to look like a old non-chronological report. 3) There is a section of a speech bubble because they are saying it not thinking.

    1) a) 8 and 2 are both factors of 16. 1and 16 are both factors of 16. 4 and 4 are both factors of 16. b) Because the answers in the 5 times tables doesn’t have 16 in the answers. 2) a) 🟣🟣🟣🟣🟣🟣🟣🟣🟣🟣 🟣🟣🟣🟣🟣🟣🟣🟣🟣🟣. b)🔵🔵🔵🔵🔵 🔵🔵🔵🔵🔵 🔵🔵🔵🔵🔵 🔵🔵🔵🔵🔵. c) 6 is not a factor of 20 because if you x 6 with any number the answer won’t be 20. 3) a) 1×12=12 2×6=12 and 3×4=12 b) 6×4=24 1×24=24 and 8×3=24 4) a) 8, 4, 1 and 16. b) You could x the numbers. 8×4=24 2×16=24 1×24=24. 5) a) 15, 5, 30, 25 and 60. b) 5×9=45 3×9=27 3×5=15 45×1=45.

    1 3 and 6 are multiples of 18
Because when you multiply it by 4 it will get 24

    2. 2 multipled by 10=20
    4 multiplied by 5=20
    6,12,18,24

    3 2 multiplied by 6 =12
    3 multiplied 4 = 12

    1×24 ,4×6=24 ,2×12

    4.4×8, 1×32

    5.5,15,3,30,2

    The number could be 18.

6.Amir is correct because no number can be multiplied by 11.
I think Ava is thinking of the number 24.

7.48 has the most factor s

      1. 2 and 8 are both factors of 16
When 5 is multiplied by 4 it equals 20 not 16

      2. 2×10= 20 4×5=20 6×4=24

      3. 1×12, 3×4,2×6
      1×24,2×12,4×6

      4.1×32,2×16,4×8

      By checking the times table

      5. 5,15,3,30
      The number could be 45

6.Amir is incorrect because you can do 1×11.
      The number could be 21

      7. 48 has the most factors

8.This statement is incorrect because 196 does not end in 5 or 0

    Work sheet
    5.2,15,30,5
6.a.Amir is wrong because the factors of 11 are 1 and 11so 11 has 2 factors.
    b.23
    7.48
8.a.10 are factors of the other numbers 20,30,40
b.0.5 is not a factor because it is a lower number than 1
9.a.true because any numbers ending in 5 or 0 it is a multiple of 5
b.true because any number in the 3 times table does not end in a 8
c.true because any number in the 20 time table is even
