### Writing

Can you complete the following acrostic poem for the word chocolate:

### Maths

Following on from yesterday when you began to look at symmetry, I’d like you to watch this lesson:

Like yesterday, I’d like you to blog and tell me that you have watched it and post at least 2 things that you have learnt.

For those of you who would like some more symmetry challenges – here you go!

Challenge 1

Challenge 2

Challenge 3

Challenge 4

### Science

Watch the following lesson on the circulatory system:

https://www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize/articles/zdcgp4j

I’m not sure what you don’t understand about tasks 3 and 4??
Task 3 – you have to match the bullet pointed words at the beginning with the meanings below. Fill in the gaps.
Task 4 – fill in the gaps using the bullet pointed words from task 3.

maths challenge 2
Jake is right at the begging because a rectangle does have one line of symmetry but if you change the way of it , it wont have a line of symmetry.

maths challenge 3
sometimes , because a square has a four line of symmetry but a rectangle don’t.

maths challenge 4
you can only do two and the two are a square and a rectangle.

• 18th June 2020 at 1:50 pm

Hi Jessica,

Great effort in Maths today!

Challenge 2 – Firstly, so all triangles have 1 line of symmetry? If you just rotate a shape, will the lines of symmetry change?

Challenge 4 – Can you make a rectangle using the original red lines? Are there any other irregular shapes that you could possible make?

I’ ve learnt that in a line of symmetry the line has to be in the exactly in the middle. Each side has to be the same.

Thanks Dhanshri,

Just double check question 2 – was it everyone?

Mrs Millard XX

• 18th June 2020 at 3:27 pm

Maths

2. Jake is wrong because if you change the orientation its still going to be a triangle.
3. Somtimes.
4. 2

• 18th June 2020 at 6:10 pm

Thanks Dhanshri,

2) It will and changing the orientation won’t change the amount of lines of symmetry.

3) Why did you write sometimes?

Mrs Millard XX

• 19th June 2020 at 11:55 am

I wrote sometimes because a square has four lines of symmetry but a rectangle doesn’t.

• 19th June 2020 at 2:00 pm
