Thursday 11th June – Year 1

Good Morning Year 1,

Miss Simons is feeling happy today because it’s her birthday! She is in school today with some of the children from her class and is looking forward to a wonderful day. Let’s start the day with some dancing to celebrate!

Here are today’s activities:

  1. Sounds-Write Phonics

  1. Reading/Writing

If the weather is nice, take a walk outside or go into your garden.

You’re going to use 4 of your senses to investigate what you can see, hear, smell and feel.
Record your ideas on a piece of paper and keep them safe for our writing tomorrow – we will be describing the wildlife around us!

  1. Maths

Use objects to make a range of 2 digit numbers – record how many tens and ones in these numbers. Which number is bigger? How do you know? Can you explain this using the vocabulary tens and ones. E.g. I know that 37 is bigger than 24 because 37 has 1 more ten than 24.

Here’s some numbers to get you started:

Have an awesome day,

Miss Simons, Mrs Brookes and Mrs Roberts : )
