Wednesday 6th May – Year 1

Good Morning Year 1,

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XqZsoesa55w (parents and carers, we apologise in advance for this one!)

We can’t these songs out of our heads! AAAHHH! We hope you enjoyed our songs today.

Here are today’s set of activities:

  1. Sounds-Write Phonics

  2. Reading/Writing
    Independent Write
Retell the story of The Elves and The Shoemaker in your own words. You can use your story maps to help you.
    * Adults, we know that it is hard but the children need some time to work independently and learn how to face challenge. *
  3. Maths
Can you explain where Mr Fox is – using positional language in full sentences, e.g. The fox is near the tree.

  4. PE
Practise this ‘Shoemaker Dance’ from Denmark: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hwBLi_VnXjM

You could even add your own movements – thinking about some of the other characters in our story (The Elves and The Shoemaker) and how they might move.

Now practise dancing like the Elves. Watch this video to help get you started: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xwUCx7EkQq8
How do the elves move? Are they light on their feet? Are they slow or do they have lots of energy? Are they joyful or sad?

Have a super day and don’t forget to send us your work,

Miss Simons, Mrs Brookes and Mrs Roberts : )
