Monday 20th April – Year 6

Morning Year 6! Welcome back.

I hope you had a lovely Easter break and you got to eat lots of chocolate!

Writing:

Write a short explanation of something that has happened over the last two weeks. Perhaps a day that was particularly exciting, a new hobby that you have started, a creative day that you had. Make sure you include plenty of detail and information.

Maths:

A square triangle??

It may seem very peculiar, but I’ve just drawn a triangle where all of the angles are square!

No I don’t mean right angles – that’s impossible!

What I mean is that each angle, measured in degrees, is a square number.

Can you tell me how many degrees each of the angles are? There might be more than one solution.

History:

I would like you to start a research project that we will work on through the blog.

Your first task is to decide who to research: the Ancient Egyptians or the Ancient Greeks.

Once you have decided, research the following for your topic:

– When did they happen?

– Where did they happen?

– How did they begin?

– Who were the rulers throughout the time?

Collect your notes and start thinking about how you will present your research. This could be in a fact file, as a non-chronological report, as a PowerPoint presentation etc. The choice is yours.

Extra task:

Have a look at the scenario below:

Discuss this with your family – especially if you have younger brothers or sisters.

Bella’s Reading Challenge

Bella the Dog has set you some reading challenges.

During the holidays, it was Easter ( one of my favourite holidays). Even though we were still stuck inside, it was still very exciting and fun. Me and my family had roast dinner and ate lots of chocolate too! We went for a walk around the woods and came back and toasted some marshmallows- they were ginormous. It was a lovely day; even if it was a little bit different.

In the past weeks I have had soo much fun. Before Easter, I had to go to school (because my mom had work)I actually thought it was so fun! I went on my brothers PS4 to play my sims -I was sad though, because my old account had to be deleted and all of my sims deleted to ,so I had to make new sims I love them. Then it was Easter the day Jesus forgave us all of our sins so we wouldn’t have to suffer, on my online church, we held it on zoom, I did a memory verse
    Colossians 3:13
Bear with each other and forgive one another, if any of you has a grievance against someone.Forgive as the lord forgave you.

The term Ancient Greece happened years 700-480 B.C.
