Maths

Have a group of items (20 or so) – take some out and put in a pile then ask your child to estimate how many there are.  After they estimate get them to count them accurately and see whether their estimate was sensible or not.  Repeat several times.

If you were able to take/pick up your learning pack there is a number track in there.  If not please make one by drawing a row of 20 squares and numbering them 1-20.  Ask your child to put their finger on number one – they say a number and they count up – they say another number and they count on.  eg if their finger is on 3 and then you say 4 they don’t say 1,2,3,4 they say 4,5,6,7.  Go up and down the number track like this.

Reading – parents please register for Oxford Owls for free books and book to read is in the phonics section above.

Parents please could you let us know how you are finding this information and let other parents know it is here if they are not accessing it please.

Thank you

Yes most of the children should be able to sound out and write at least a simple sentence – if you e-mail reception@lingsprimary.org.uk and let us know which child you are asking about then we will be able to tell you what we would expect your child to do. Mrs Tucker
