week 1

Dear children

What an exciting week it was last week…we discovered an Enormous Turnip that had to be pulled out of the ground. Lots of people and animals had to pull it out of the ground.

To thank the characters for helping they had turnip for breakfast, lunch and tea.

We also had a picnic basket of healthy and unhealthy foods which you all helped sort them out. Thank you it’s good to know what is good for you to eat and to keep healthy.

Even though you are at home you still need to do your learning – please make sure that you take care and do it as well as you possibly can.

Phonics

Listening to sounds in the environment and identifying them like the hoover, washing machine, kettle, birds and cars etc. There is some good listening games on you tube https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=phase+1+listening+game

Maths

Counting up 5 objects and finding an amount.

Speech and language

Go outside, if possible, and find an interesting object, plant, animal.  Describe it in full sentences. When they ask for something encourage your child to ask in a full sentences.

Physical activities

Using big paper draw big circles (in an anticlockwise direction). Also lines going from the top and down to the bottom. This can also be achieved using chalk or large paint brushes on the ground.

Reading

Ask your grown up to make themselves a drink and when they are sitting down you could tell them a story using the pictures.

We look forward to hearing all about your day

Niamh and I have read a few books so far which we have continued to write in the yellow book which has been sent home.

We have painted some different animals, we have attempted to draw some of the frozen characters. Yesterday afternoon we tried to draw around the shadows of some animals.

Niamh has also been practicing writing her numbers and letters. She also has played basketball shooting games, tried to follow joe wicks workout and copy mummy doing the insanity work outs 😂

We will be looking at some other activities that you have kindly set out and complete a few today

    Hope you are all well

Thank you so much for letting us know the lovely things that Niamh has been up to! It sounds like you have been very busy! I love the activity of drawing around the animal shadows! It is great that she is writing letters and numbers, if you could post any photos you have taken that would be great! We are really missing the children so keep posting what you are up to!
