Trip to Warwick Castle
Year 1 had a fantastic day at Warwick Castle last Thursday, learning all about castles ready for our new topic! The children all set the standard and certainly made Lings proud with their excellent behaviour. We were very lucky with the weather and we even managed to catch the Bird of Prey Show – where we came up and close with an eagle! The children were very determined and with lots of encouragement, we climbed over 500 steps and made it to the top of the castle to take in some wonderful views of the grounds.
Below are some castle-related words that we came across during our visit. We will be using these words in class over the next few weeks:
turrets, portcullis, ramparts and moat.
Here are some of the pictures from our day out …
What a fantastic day it looks like you all had. Elliot had plenty to tell us about the trip. Thank you for taking them!
