Good morning! Hopefully you are all bright eyed and bushy tailed this morning, ready for some more fun learning. Well done all of those children who have submitted their work, you are superstars.

Thursday 11

English/ Reading:

Here are some images from the play. Answer the questions using your inference skills (use clues from the pictures and what you know about Midsummer Night’s Dream to help you answer the questions).

  1. Who is the character in the first picture? How do you know it is them?
  2. Why is there an arrow through the middle of a flower on the second image? (Think about what you know about the arrow and flower from the play)
  3. What could be the glowing lights that we can see in the third picture?
  4. Who could the two characters be in Picture 4? How do you know?
  5. Look at the top of picture 4 near the moon, it looks like a drop of something? What could it be and why do you think that?

Writing:

Mrs Denny has written the ending to Midsummer Night’s Dream but she has not checked through her work and corrected mistakes. You need to check her spellings, make sure she has written in the past tense, used capital letters for nouns/ characters and that all her sentences make sense. You can use a purple pencil or a different colour to circle the words that are wrong and write corrections above.

See how you get on:

Look at the number 57, how many ones? How many tens?
40p – forget the p and just think 40, do I have ones? No. How many tens?
      Football costs £10 – forget £ just do 3 lots of 10 or 3×10.
60 minutes in an hour – you just have to learn that fact.
      10 more than 23 means 23 + 10
      10p + 10p + 5p + 2p =
North 1/2 turn means I’m now facing South.

      Hope this helps, Mrs B.
