Year 1 (Home Learning) – Tuesday 19th January
Hello Year 1,
Here is the CBBC’s Lockdown Learning schedule for this week:
- The 20 minute Bitesize Daily age 5-7 sessions @ 9:00am will be an additional way of supporting the children’s learning at home.
- We have highlighted Wednesday’s Bitesize Daily session, as the Science lesson will be on Materials and this will be our curriculum focus is this week!
FAO: Parents & Carers
A reminder of the expectations of Home Learning:
- There will be a daily Zoom registration @ 10:40am, during which a member of the Year 1 Team will greet the children and discuss the activities for the day ahead.
- The expectation is for children to be on the daily Zoom registration and engaging with the set activities on our Year 1 Blog – Phonics, Literacy, Maths and a Curriculum subject.
- Please email children’s work across to their class teacher at: yearone@lingsprimary.org.uk

Literacy
Learning Objectives:
- I can write a series of sentences about my fairy character.
- I can use capital letters and full stops and leave spaces between words.

What fabulous ideas you came up with for your fairy characters!
Today we would like you to write a description of your fairy character.
What sort of fairy are you? What would you wear? What do you look like?
Have you got wings or do you have a super fairy power of some sort?
Include all these things in your writing.
Challenge: Can you use an ‘and’ in your sentence to join two ideas? Remember to only use one and in each sentence.

Art
We would like you to draw a picture of your fairy that you have written about in your Literacy activity today – showing what you would look like and what you would be wearing.
You can use any art materials that you would like …you could cut and stick, paint, use felt pens or whatever you have at home.
