Reading at Home:

Literacy

Learning Objective: I can use descriptive words and phrases to describe the forest.

We are going to start exploring a story that is written by a man called William Shakespeare.

Some of the story is set in a forest. Today we are going to look at images of forests and begin to write some words (to describe the forest) that will help us with our writing tomorrow.

Using your finger, move around the pictures and write words on a piece of paper to describe what you see … try to use some ‘wow’ adjectives!

Your grown up is allowed to help you think of exciting descriptive phrases and words. What do you think you can hear, smell and feel?

We have thought of some phrases to get you started; Knobbly bark, spooky shadows, rotting leaves …

      Good Morning Lindsey,
We are so pleased that Tiger Lilly enjoyed the story and forest activity. It’s great to hear that she is reading at home and completing additional learning activities.
There are Phonics learning books available to collect from school for further support if you would like them – there are also weekly paper packs available to collect (based on the work set on the blog).
Hope this helps … please tell Tiger Lilly that her teachers and friends miss her too!
      Keep smiling,
      Year 1 Team 🙂
