PSHE Part 1 – Thursday 7th January

This term’s topic is “Dreams and Goals”.

A goal is something that you would like to achieve in the future.

Today’s lesson gives you a chance to think about your dream lifestyle when you grow up.

You will identify what you would like your life to be like when you grow up and consider whether you will need money to help you achieve some of your dreams.

To start with, think about how you would finish the following sentence: “If I won the lottery my dream would be…”

If possible, discuss this question with other people in your house.

Once you have thought of an idea, think about whether you would be able to achieve this dream without any money.

Are there any dreams that do not involve having money to make them come true?

Is there a difference between dreams that do need money and dreams that don’t need money?

Please post some of your thoughts on the above questions in the comments box and send them to us. It would be good to see your dreams, views and thoughts.

This should take 30 minutes.

    Dream
    ————
    If
    I
    Win
    The
    L.ottery
    I
    Would
    Give
    My
    Nan
    And
    Grandad
    There
    Dream
    And
    Not
    Mine
    Because
    My
    Dream
    Is
    To
    Have
    My
    Nan
    And
    Grandad
    So
    I
    Would
    Give
    Them
    There
    Dream.

My Nans dream is to have a Manition
And my grandads is that Rihanna owns her own fishing lake and he can go fishing for free
    But I can’t do that until I’m older 😢

My thoughts on the question below I often talk to my mum and dad about winning the lottery and what we could do as a family with lots of money I would like to give some to charity’s to help other people in need and we would help our family as well I would also put money aside for my future incase I have a family of my own it would be good because my mum would not have to work and she would get to spend more time with me going on adventures together but if I didn’t win the lottery then I want to look to what I’m good at in the next few years and work hard to achieve that goal as to have many things in life money helps and if I want anything then I would work hard to save for things

      Hello Kyran

What a great response! It really sounds like you have thought about this.

Do you think that all dreams need money in order to achieve them?

I think it depends what sort of dream it is if it means travelling or buying a dream house or car or have lots of computers then yes then you would need money for it but if your dream is to be healthy or to help someone then no that don’t cost money

I would definitly need money for that.
Yes, I think you don’t need money to become a profesional football player.

“If I won the lottery my dream would be…” to raise money to the charity which is people in need and to help my family. I would like to save the eco-system from air pollution and improve technology since UK has got the 6th best technology in the world as Japan is first in the whole world. This includes to help the disabled people to have better technology. As people are going to Mars in 2021(projected-which means they should)and reach there in 2024- I want to help them to stay safe.😊 Life is important!

Are there any ways we can protect life and the planet which do not involve money?

if i won the lottery my dream would be helping other people and famillies, kids in the hospital that have very bad medical conditions. And my second would be to buy a new house, a nice pool, and donate some money to charity and mabye give some food to the homeless people.

I have a dream involving no money. And its to get a good job that can give me money and i choose a good job because it dosen’t involve money like you cant buy a job you have to train for it and try your best and never give up to achieve money.

Yes there is a difference about a dream that has no money and a dream that has money. The difference is when you want a dream that involves money you want to buy a house and help poor children. But a dream that dosen’t involve money is mabye that you want your parents to live long or your friends and grandparents, aunties live long.

It is good that you see the value of hard work and that things are not just given to us.

What would be your dream job?

If I won the lottery my dream would be to visit a lot of places and make memories and buy a theme park and share my money with my family

I think I could visit lots of places without winning the lottery but would have to work hard

I think you can make dreams come true without money as long as you believe in your own hard work

If I win the lottery I my dream would be and buy a cosy house.
My dream without money would be happiness and friendship.
There is a difference between these two one is without feelings and the other has plenty.
My dream would be in happy world with no global warning no forests cut down it has lots of friendship.

Alex, I think that there are many adults in the world who could learn from your attitude.

You clearly recognise that it is not necessarily money that makes us happy.

If I won the lottery my dream would be to get a good job and serve happiness to my family and close friends. In a way, I don’t have to spend money to get a job but I will have to apply with money. A dream that wont have to spend money at all would be like completing my bucket list. The differences between with money or not would be it will be common to have the same dream as someone else like buying a house or a car but if no money it would be quite unique.
