Reception home learning Tuesday 8th December

Parents and carers

Just a reminder to bring in all the home learning wallets, resources and phonics boards, pens and rubbers back to school tomorrow.  If you have used the phonics book please just write their name on it.  We will leave a big box for you to put them in and we will put them in the isolation room before sorting them out.  We can then replenish and re-use them just in case we close again.  Also, please can we have any of their written work to put into their writing and maths books.  Thank you.

We made it! This is our last day of home learining – it hasn’t been easy for you at home to do your learning in a different way, it hasn’t been easy for us either – but we think that we have all done really well. Thank you all for working so hard, and thank you to all the grown ups who have worked so hard with you. We are so excited to be back in school tomorrow and to see you all in real life! What a great day we will have! So here for the last time, is your home learning for the day…

Phonics

Here is Mrs Whitestone’s last phonics session for the children who usually do phonics with her, sitting on Mrs O’Hagan’s carpet.

And here is Mrs Tucker’s last phonics online for those who don’t do phonics with Mrs Whitestone.

Sorry – my lesson is in two parts but watch both for the whole lesson

Understanding the World

The last of Mrs Henderson’s observational challenges!

Maths

Lets begin with my Numicon game for a starter – can you tell which Numcion I have in my bag by listening to me describe it?

Do you remember when we did prepositions with Mrs Henderson using words like on, under, in between, beside, in, behind, infront of?  Well today, Gizmo her cat wanted to join in the video so here they are.  Remember to tell your grown up where Gizmo is in full sentences eg. Gizmo is under the yellow chair.

Literacy – writing

We have some dictated sentences for you today, if you do your phonics with Mrs Tucker then try these:

If you do your phonics with Mrs Whitestone, then try these:

Mrs Szabo has another Speech and Language Challenge for you today…this is what she says –

Look at the cards and describe what you can see using sentences.

Challenge yourself and use your imagination and make up your own story…

Tell your story to your teddy, or your cat, your dog, brother/sister or your grownup – have fun! 😊

Elf Antics

Did any of you notice on Tapestry yesterday that our elves have chosen their names? They’re great names! It must have been a difficult choice, the children all came up with fantastic ideas.

It looks like the elves were trying the counting on game last night. I can see one of the elves has put a number in their head… I wonder if they are as good at the game as you all are?

Story

Mrs Szabo has a wonderful Christmassy story to finish off our home learning journey – enjoy!

Well that’s it! We have finished our two weeks isolation! you have all worked so hard at home, and so have your grown ups. We are very proud of you all! See you tomorrow!!
