Year 1 (Home Learning) – Tuesday 1st December

Happy 1st of December Year 1,

It’s a new month and we hope that you are feeling ready for the day ahead.

We imagine that some of you may have even had a little piece of chocolate this morning! YUM!

Keep ‘Setting the Standard’ in all that you do – we are so very proud of you all.

Here are your activities for the day:

Phonics

Here is a clip of Mrs Tucker showing you how we teach Phonics at Lings:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_ioLx3wtKcs

We teach Phonics in groups in Year 1 – Miss Simons, Mrs Brookes/Mrs Roberts and Mrs Sargent each have a Phonics group.

Ask your child which Phonics group they are in and follow the appropriate planning below.
If you are unsure of which Phonics group they are in, then please email us at: yearone@lingsprimary.org.uk

Literacy

We are on the last few pages of the story. Shall we find out what happened to Mrs Armitage, Breakspear and her bike?

Read the last few pages, poor Mrs Armitage …

Now click on the link below and listen to the whole story again.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fp5LR8RthHA

Can you retell the story in your own words – remembering to include the main events and the things she added to her bike!

Your job today is make a storyboard (a storyboard is a series of pictures that show the main events in the story using simple pictures) showing what happened to Mrs Armitage.

Maths

Activity 1:

We have been learning about birds – birds lay eggs.

Have a go at completing the part-part-whole models below – using your knowledge of ‘tens’ and ‘ones’.

Activity 2:

Watch this video from White Rose: https://vimeo.com/460142990

Work through the problems to complete the lesson.

Have a go at completing this sheet: https://resources.whiterosemaths.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/07/Y1-Autumn-Block-1-D14-Ordinal-numbers-2019.pdf

Have a wonderful day and we look forward to seeing all of your hard work,

Miss Simons, Mrs Brookes and Mrs Roberts : )
