Friday 17th July – Year 5

Good morning Year 5 – the day is finally here! The last day of term – the last day of a very unusual, difficult and challenging term. Hopefully September will bring a bit of normality to all of our lives. I can’t wait to see you all again and to see your smiling, happy faces.

I’m not setting lots of tasks today but just some English and Maths to keep your brains in gear!

Here we go – for the final time!

ICT – Safety at Home

Discuss the following scenario with an adult at home:

Warm-up

English

I’d like you to think about, and reflect upon,  the last term as you begin the transition into Year 6. Just a few weeks away and you’ll be there!

Blog and tell me about the following:

  • What things did you really enjoy about Year 5 – if you can remember as it seems so long ago now! I know that we didn’t get the chance to finish all that we needed to but cast your mind back for some memories.
  • Is there anything about Year 5 that you’d like to ask me? (or even Year 6)
  • How have you felt about lockdown? For many of you, this may mean some negatives but hopefully, some positives too!
  • How are you feeling about moving to Year 6?
  • What will be your targets as you begin Year 6?
  • What (if anything) will you do differently in Year 6?
  • What are your hopes and dreams for the future?

Maths

Here are some challenges

The answers are at the bottom but don’t scroll down too early!

I’d just like to say a big ‘THANK YOU’ to all of you that have engaged with the blogs, especially those of you that have done so regularly, and those that have been doing lots of extra learning at home too.  This will really help you in September.

Have a wonderful Summer spending time with your loved ones – take care, be happy and keep safe. Remember where I am – only next door, so I’ll be expecting a catch-up (and a hug!) in September.

Lots of love.

My favourite memories from year 5 are:
Swimming, P.E, Maths games on notivate day.

My goal for year 6 is to write more in English and to not forget homework.
My hopes and dreams are to be more motivated.

What i enjoyed about year 5 is that i have got 3 of the best teachers ,that i learnt new things and I challenged myself . In lock down i was very bored and sad because i haven’t seen my friends but also I’ve happy because i got to spend time with my family. I’m very nerves to go to year 6 and i will really miss your guys being my teacher .

Thanks for the lovely message Sadia.
Remember that we won’t be far in September – just down the corridor. We will see you all the time – we’re not going anywhere!

      Have a great Summer.
