Home Learning Tasks 25th June 2020

Good morning Year 2! Over half way through the week! Well done to all those who have shared their work with us so far this week. We love seeing what you have done and we know that practising your learning skills at home really will help you when you come back to school.

Have a tremendous Thursday!

Miss Battams and Miss Duncan

English Reading.

Read the text below and answer the questions. Make sure you read the questions carefully and only choose the information from the text you need. There will be a different part of the story each day.

  1. What did the clearing look like?
  2. How did Ronald approach?
  3. What do you think heart all aflutter means?
  4. How is the water described?
  5. Who is the me at the end of the story?

Maths

We are finishing our maths mystery adventure! You need to solve the last clue today to find the answer to the mystery! If you have missed any clues they are in previous home learning posts from this week. Feel free to email us if you need any help.
You will need to use the grid below with the names of the gnomes on each day to cross off or write down the gnomes who aren’t the naughty one! Each day you will have crossed some off using your clues and today you will find out who the naughty gnome is! Don’t forget to leave us a blog comment or send the answer in an email to us! We’ll post the answer this afternoon and see if you’re one of our incredible detectives!

Here is today’s clue!

Common Exception Words.

Here are a couple of common exception words practices for you to complete. It is really important we can read and spell these year 2 words ready for moving on into year 3.

PE

This week is the Lings Virtual Sports Day week! You can earn house points by completing tasks at home and sending your scores and videos to the year two email or to PE@lingsprimary.org,uk.
For more information, videos of each day’s task and to get your score sheet for the week, please see the seperate post on the Year 2 blog page. Good luck!!

Story time.
It would be great if you could continue to read and take part in the School’s Summer Reading Challenge that is being run by the local libraries. For more information or to register please go to https://summerreadingchallenge.org.uk/

You could read a story from the online book collection. These are the books we use in school. Your child should know what colour book band they are in. We would suggest blue or green as a starting point and choosing a higher or lower band if needed. Remember, to be considered to be reading fluently your child should be able to answer questions and show understanding of what they have just read, not just be able to read the words easily.
