Home Learning Tasks 24th June 2020

Good morning year 2! We know it is a bit different being at home and being apart from all your friends in school. Hopefully we will all be back together soon. Here’s a little picture to help you remember something very important.

Have a wonderful Wednesday and remember to leave us a comment on the blog post or send us an email so we can see what you’ve been doing. yeartwo@lingsprimary.org.uk

Miss Battams and Miss Duncan.

English Reading

Read the text below and answer the questions. Make sure you read the questions carefully and only choose the information from the text you need. There will be a different part of the story each day.

  1. Give two reasons why Ronald cannot be a python?
  2. How does Python slide?
  3. What do you think the word glum means?
  4. Whose eyes sparkle brightly?

Maths

We are carrying on with our maths mystery adventure! You need to solve the clues each day to find the answer to the mystery. They’ll be a different part each day for you to complete. Feel free to email us if you need any help.
You will need to use your grid below with the names of the gnomes on each day to cross off or write down the gnomes who aren’t the naughty one! Each day will give you some more that you can cross off. You should have a few crossed off now as we are getting closer to finding the naughty gnome.

Here is today’s clue.

Common Exception Words.

Here are a couple of common exception words practices for you to complete. It is really important we can read and spell these year 2 words ready for moving on into year 3.

Art

Can you collect some natural materials from your garden and make a picture using them? Rub them against a piece of paper and see what natural colours they make.

For example a leaf could make green, mud could make brown, a dandelion could make yellow.

PE

This week the Lings Virtual Sports Day week! You can earn house points by completing tasks at home and sending your scores and videos to the year two email or to PE@lingsprimary.org,uk. Today is day 5.

For more information, videos of each day’s task and to get your score sheet for the week, please see the seperate post on the Year 2 blog page. Good luck!!

Story time.

It would be great if you could continue to read and take part in the School’s Summer Reading Challenge that is being run by the local libraries. For more information or to register please go to https://summerreadingchallenge.org.uk/

Can you build a den that you can read in today?
