Home Learning Monday 22nd June 2020

Good morning Year 2! Welcome to another week of home learning! There’s lots of different tasks planned for you again this week. Don’t forget to email us you questions or work to yeartwo@lingsprimary.org.uk or leave us a comment on this blog to tell us how you have got on. We love to hear from you!

Miss Battams and Miss Duncan

English Reading.

Read the text below and answer the questions. Make sure you read the questions carefully and only choose the information from the text you need. There will be a different part of the story each day.

  1. What type of animal is Ronald?
  2. How does Ronald feel at the start of the story?
  3. What does Ronald use to make his spots?
  4. Where does Leopard lurk?
  5. What do you think Leopard thinks when he see’s Ronald?

Maths

This week’s maths is a little different! It’s a maths mystery adventure! You need to solve the clues each day to find the answer to the mystery! They’ll be a different part each day for you to complete. Feel free to email us if you need any help.

You will need to use the grid below with the names of the gnomes on each day to cross off or write down the gnomes who aren”t the naughty one! Each day will give you some more that you can cross off.

Here is your first task for today to help you solve the mystery. Use the pictogram to help you answer the questions.  Use the number from the answer to the question to find the words in the table under the pictogram. You will then need to put these words in to a sentence that makes sense so that you can cross off some of your gnomes from the grid above. Your clue sentence will have 4 words.

Common Exception Words

Here are a couple of common exception words practices for you to complete. It is really important we can read and spell these year 2 words ready for moving on into year 3.

PSHE

We often talk about being kind to others and being thankful for all the wonderful things and people we have in our lives. So here is a scavenger hunt to help you find some of these things.

You can share pictures of you scavenger hunt with us at yeartwo@lingsprimary.org.uk

PE.

This week is the start of the Lings Virtual Sports Day week! You can earn house points by completing tasks at home and sending your scores and videos to the year two email or to PE@lingsprimary.org,uk.

For more information, videos of each day’s task and to get your score sheet for the week, please see the seperate post on the Year 2 blog page.  Good luck!!

Story time.

It would be great if you could continue to read and take part in the School’s Summer Reading Challenge that is being run by the local libraries. For more information or to register please go to https://summerreadingchallenge.org.uk/

We have been taking part in the sports week challenged. They have been great fun, we are all rooting for Earth! 😁

Elliot did well with today’s common exception words and we enjoyed today’s clue for the maths. We can’t wait to find out which naughty gnome it was. This is a great maths activity.

We have been reading books at home and from the big cat website you gave a few weeks ago. He is signed up for the summer reading challenge.
