Hello Year 4!

Today we are going to plan a diary entry. You are going to imagine you have arrived at a desert island. Use the headings and questions below to plan your diary/ experience arriving, during and being saved from the desert island.

Here is an image to help you imagine your experience of the desert island.

Planning your diary – remember just make notes as we are only planning.

Arriving on the island

  • How did you travel/ arrive at the island?
  • Use senses to describe what you smelt, saw and heard when you arrived – use expanded nouns
  • How did you feel? use three feelings.

During the time on the island

  • name 5 things you did to survive on the island
  • write down three feelings you felt on the island
  • use 5 expanded nouns to describe the animals and plants you saw.
  • What did you miss while on the island? List three things.
  • What did you discover on the island? use your imagination.

Leaving the island

  • How were you rescued from the island?

  • What three things did you learn from living on the island?

Use the headings and the questions to reply in the comments or handwrite and send a photo to our Year 4 email. Remember this is only a plan. You need to see what needs to be included in your diary, tomorrow.

We look forward to seeing your plans later.

I arrived while I was on my boat and I fell asleep and somehow ended up on a island.
I smelt Fresh beautiful water, I heard whistling birds.
When I arrived, I felt very worried, confused and surprised how I got there.

I drank sea water, eat coconuts, eat seaweeds, being calm, not panicking.
I felt very warm sand, brown palm trees, cold and warm water.
Green patterned turtles, disgusting Seaweed, blue dolphins, spikey palm trees, long soft grass.
    My family
    My home
    My pets
I discovered how coconuts feel and how it feels to be on the island in the middle of the sea.

I was rescues by flaring a flare gun in the sky for somebody to see the light. And somebody came!
    Happy, Excited, stressful.
    I learnt how to swim.
I learned not to be scared alone
I learned my lesson to not fall asleep on the boat that had no gasps left.

Last night I was locked in my cabin to sleep in my private yacht. I heard some screaming. I began to feel worried. I woke up. I saw there was the captin’s brother that murdered him. I always I had a pistol with 30 spare ammunition. It was loaded with 6. I went straight out and pointed it at him. He was sitting on the edge of the yacht wall. “Can’t get me now!!!” He shouted on top of waves. He leaned back and fell. I had nothing to do except call the crew members there was only one man left. I shouted and shouted. Looked and looked. I noticed they died too. As soon as I noticed that they are dead I came to the steering wheel but as I grabbed it I saw the end of my life and this ship. Iceberg…

The next month I noticed I was in the middle of NO-WHERE I was not tirsty nor hungry as I was fed. I fainted… Next I woke and saw an island in the distance with my friend that survived the crash. I saw him a mile away from me. I SCREAMED to him “COME!!!!!” I barley heard his reply bt it sounded like “OK!!!” He got to me and I mentioned the island and I remember not much but I do remember saying to go to it.

That is how we get to today’s day which I think is monday. We learnt about survival ages ago.
I remember nothing from that but Marcin does. Straight away we found spare food (killed animals) and hid it. Secondly we built tools. Next I built a shelter and Marcin found ores. The last thing we did was to make my friend make weapons and I made protection from wild animals. We where astonished to see that we are here, frightened, and depressed.

After a week and 2 days we were rescued by a rescue helicopter. There was one space… I let Marcin go. A day after I was rescued by my wife and Marcin. He came back. They knew I would try to swim so they looked in the middle no-where where I fainted and picked me up in my yacht (I was a millionare so I had a couple more). I was home in my mansion and I poped champane, made dinner, supper and I finally went to sleep in my 4-poster bed.

I travelled by using a boat. I smelt sea water I heard tree leaves swaying and I saw a deserted island.
I got food I made a shelter I drank water I needed to get wood and brought an ake.
I felt excited brave and scared.
I saw a beautiful happy jaguar the plants I saw made me joyful, happy, exotic and energetic and I even saw an exotic chameleon which was super cool.
I missed my family my Xbox 1s and my actual home.
I discovered cancer cures caves/cave men and 10000000 metres tall towers.

I was rescued by lots of professional rescuers .
Happy excited to go home and thankful.
To do things by your self cope with what you have and be grateful for being rescued.

I traveled on a small yacht.
I would smell salty water, fresh leaves and the calm sea.
I think I might be calm because you can’t be on a calm island and then not be calm relaxed.

If I had a sieve I would get my bottle and got water and not salt water, put a tent and a sleeping bag inside the tent, clear a area so you could have a little bit of fire to deep warm in cold weather.
I would feel happy because I would have space to run around in and then swim in the shallow end of the water.
Small bushes and big wavy palm trees.
Building sand castles and sand tunnels.
Finding out that other people have been here before us and built sand tunnels leading to clean water and there are coconuts at the tops of the trees that you can survive on an island made out of sand, grass and trees.
I was rescued by a helicopter. Happy, safe and amazing!

    * I arrived at this island from a plane crash I was the only survivor.
    * When I arrived I could hear birds screeching , when I got up I saw trees and coconuts then I smelt something familiar it smelt like potatoes.
    * I felt happy as I will survive longer but also sad as I can’t see my family and dizzy as during the crash something hit my head.

    * To survive I crafted tools , using the potatoes I made a farm , built a house using wood , using my blanket and made a bed finally built a pier to fish with.
    * after surviving I felt happy , but still sad and you know why and finally a bit smart for surviving 3 months.
    * I saw wild pigs , thin coconut trees , tall and short grasses , large cows and tall palm trees.
    * I miss my friends , family , and my proper house.
    * I discovered caves and a tiny island right nearby and part of the plane to make tools.

    * I escaped by a helicopter seeing and saving me.
    * I felt wonder full , happy and imaginational as I was going home.
    * on the island I learnt to survive craft and build.

    Arriving on the island
I was going swimming with my friends, then suddenly a massive wave got me and I landed on this island stranded from the outside world.
I smelt fresh, sea water and heard the parrots and other birds singing beautifully. I stepped on a soft sand. It was bright and fresh.
I felf scared and brave at the same time. I knew I had to do somthing to survive. I was a bit anxious.
During the time on the island.
I found coconuts, which I really don’t like, but I had to drink so coconut water was it.
I caught some salmon and one catfish plus I was really good at fishing, even with my hands. I also knew how to start the fire from rocks, sand and wood. I built a shelter from the large branches. I explored the island to check if it’s safe and found some tasty berries to eat. There were some friendly animals plus a stranded dog, which was happy to see me, he had only one leg. I called him Bernard. There were super chatty parrots too.
On the island I mainly missed my parents and my pet.
I discovered edible berried, the tastiest berries I’ve ever tried.
    Leaving the island.
People back home were searching for me and one of my friends sent a helicopter for me. I felt amazed, as I haven’t been in a helicopter before. I was brave to get in and sad to leave the island behind. I took Bernard the dog with me and gave him a robot legs, so he could walk and run happily.
