Here are today’s learning activities.

English – Reading

Read the following diary entry and answer the following comprehension questions.

 

English – Writing

Using your imagination and your writing from this week, write a diary entry of the day you visited the setting.

How do you start the diary entry?

What happened when you were in the setting?

Use the writing about your senses to help you when describing your time in the setting.

Remember to use capital letters, finger spaces, full stops, any other punctuation such as a question mark if you include a question, adjectives, adverbs and conjunctions in your writing.

 

Sounds-Write Phonics  – Focus sound /r/ spelling <rh>

Review – read the following Year 2 common exception words: parents, steak, clothes, hour, eye, behind

Read: rhythm, rhubarb, myrrh,

Write : rhino,  rhyme, rhumba, rheum

Dictation: A rhino has good rhythm when he is playing the drums and he is eating rhubarb crumble.

 

Maths – Basic Skills

Name the following shapes

Maths – Task

Answer the following quiz (reasoning) style questions

Spellings

Practice spelling the following words.

Use the same ‘copy, copy, copy, cover word and write’ process we use in class.

Computing – Online Safety

Discuss and answer the question with an adult in your household.

 

Story

Can you find a different piece of text to read instead of a book? a magazine? newspaper? back of a cereal box?
