Year 2 Home Learning Tasks – Wednesday 3rd June

Hi Year 2

It’s Wednesday and we are half way through another brilliant week of home learning.

Here are today’s learning activities.

English – Reading

Look at the picture.

In full sentences, write what you think will happen next.

English – Writing

Read your writing from Monday and Tuesday as well as looking at the pictures.

Compare the two settings.

What is the same?

What is different?

Which one would you want to go to and why?

What would you do there and why?

Write your responses in full sentences and remember to use conjunctions in your writing.

Sounds-Write Phonics – focus sound /r/  spelling <wr>

Review – read the following Year 2 common exception words: child, every, fast, improve, only, climb

Read: wrap, write, wrong, wrestle

Write : wreath, Wrinkle, wrote, wrist

Dictation: The wrinkly wrestler wrote about the shipwreck. He should have written about the wriggling wren.

Today we have a BBC bitesize Science lesson for you to use.

Watch the video and complete activity one.

Listen and watch another one of my favourite stories.

Remember to leave us a comment on the blog to share your learning or you can email it to us at

As teachers are back in school teaching we won’t be able to always answer comments on the blogs or reply to emails about your fantastic learning on the same day. Even though we might not respond right away please know we are seeing your work and are very proud of you so please still show us.

We look forward to seeing your work!

All the children will be really happy and will want to go again.
They might go down a bigger slope as it was so much fun.

The same thing in both of the settings is that the sun is still shining.
The difference is that one setting has sand and the other has water.
I would rather go to the ocean as you would be able to see all the see creatures swimming around and how to catch there pray, as that would be very very fascinating amazing.
I would spend my time with the creatures and swim with them.

Write down the two times tables from 0x2 to 12×3

    8 x 3 = 24

I would be under the water because it is beautiful. I would swim around, I would try and find a pirate ship. The same is that the sun is there and it is different because one is water and one is sand.
