Reception Home Learning – Thursday 21st May

Hello everyone

How are your paintings and drawings coming on?  Look at these fantastic works oF art from Alex, Laura, Chloe and Zanti.

Don’t forget that you can join in the World Record Challenge for the biggest art lesson ever today at 4pm – sign up here – https://www.artworldrecords.com/

Today’s modern artist is called Wassily Kandinsky – he was from Russia.  Here’s a little clip about his work –

And here are some pictures of his paintings

Maths

Warm up – play ‘one less’ – you say a number and then your child has to say what number is one less than yours.

Today’s game in maths is about shapes.  Have a look at the clip that explains about 2D shapes – at school we call them flat shapes.  At the end there is a little quiz to do but grown ups you might want to ask your children more questions.  Parents on children in my class (Mrs Tucker) ask them what my favourite 2D shape is … see if they remember it is a hexagon!

Physical Development

Here’s a nice challenge for today..or the next few days.  Try level one first and only do level two if you can do one well.

Well done everyone – see you tomorrow x

Chloe said Mrs Tucker’s favourite shape is a Hexagon.
Her favourite picture is the last one as it has wiggly lines. Her Nana also used to have this painting hanging in her living room.
