# Wednesday 13th May – Year 5

Good morning Pankhurst class. Are you all well?

### Maths

Yesterday we looked at angles on a straight line. Today we are going to look at angles in a triangle.

1. Revision time! Tell me what you know about the following types of triangles: right-angled, equilateral, isosceles and scalene.

What are their properties? What makes them this type of triangle?

2. Watch the following video and tell me the important message that it teaches you:

What can you tell me now about the angles in a triangle?

3) Your turn!  Complete the following examples – make sure that you label each answer with the triangle letter:

### Art

Something different today! I want you to watch the following video. It is of a Year 5 teacher (not me!) teaching you a lesson about how to create optical illusions. Everything is explained! I think that you will enjoy it – I did!

Take care.

Maths
1.a right angle is a 90°angle an egualactral triangle is every corner is equal ,iscoloese has a axis of symmetry along its vertex ,a scalene is defined as a unequal triangle all sides are different .🥰🦋

• 13th May 2020 at 3:28 pm

Thanks Evie,

Check the spelling of ‘equilateral’. They do have three identical angles but what else is the same in an equilateral triangle?
Isosceles – tell me something about the length of sides and the angles.
What’s else is unequal in a scalene triangle, apart from the lengths of the sides?

Did you find the missing angles in the example triangles?

6) Check this answer. Did they set of on 2nd June or did something else happen on that day?
7) They are mountain guides from India and Nepal but what do they do specifically?
I like your thinking for question 9!
