a] Amir can count in tenths by making one bead a tenth so ten beads is one. When Amir gets to six then Amir needs to count seven more.
7
a] 3 left and 97 right.
b] 23 left and 77 right.
c] 23 left and 77 right.
d] 53 left and 47 right.
Very clear explanations to support your great mathematical understanding. Thank you Franek

B)12/100
C) 20/100
D) 2/10=20/100
3.
Eva
Because she actually is doing a way to work it out unlike Jack
4.
A) 30/100
B) 70/100
C) 8/10
D) 2/10
E) 2/10+70/100
F) 6/10+70/100
5.
A)
2/100 3/100 4/100 5/100

34/100 36/100 38/100 40/100
D)
73/100 70/100 69/100 68/100
Amir can count faster from counting 6 tenths and add the 7 on to make 67
7.
A)
3/10 3/100
B)
23/10 23/100
C)
23/10 23/100

53/10 53/100
Thank you Kristers, your number sense is great. Take a break and take a look later at the Science – please send your photos to the year 4 email address,
1.
a) 0.1=10/100
b) 1/100
2.
a) 1/10 > 9/100
b) 1/10 < 12/100
c) 1/10 < 20/100
d) 2/10 = 20/100
3.
I think Eva completed her partition correctly 25/100=2/10+5/100, however I agree with Jack there are other ways you can partition 25/100, for example:
25/100=1/10+15/100
25/100=10/100+1/10+5/100
25/100=2/100+5/100+8/100+1/10
4.
a) 3/10=30/100
b) 7/10=70/100
c) 80/100=8/10
d) 20/100=2/10
e) 27/100=2/10+7/100
f) 67/100=6/10+7/100
5.
a) 0,1/100,2/100,3/100,4/100,5/100
b) 9/100,1/10,11/100,12/100,13/100,14/100
c) 3/10,32/100,34/100,36/100,38/100,4/10
d) 73/100,72/100,71/100,7/10,69/100,68/100
6.
Annie is right as you can count the beads faster by using tenths, so Amir can count 6 tenths + 7 beads to get 67 in total.
7.
a) left 3/100 right 97/100
b) left 23/100 right 77/100
c) left 23/100 right 77/100
d) left 53/100 right 47/100
Great responses Alex, hope you are ok
