Monday 23rd March -Reading this week (Year 5)

Hello Pankhurst Class,

Don’t forget to read this week – we are expecting the same commitment to reading at home as we normally do in school. Try to read every day – you have more time now so this shouldn’t be too difficult. Try to read to yourself as well as with an adult whenever possible.

By Friday, we would like you to report back to us, showing us when, what and for how long you have been reading. This is just like writing it in your Reading Records. Please also include any comments about your reading – what you did/didn’t like, a brief description about what you have read, what you have learnt ….

We will award raffle tickets (just like in school) if you prove that you have read 5 times a week – you can record these in your Reading Records and when we are back in school, we can give you the real thing!

I have checked the Weston Favell library website and they are still open at the moment so this is another option if you run out of reading material – please keep your distance if you visit though!

Thanks for reading this week George. Your post needs checking though for punctuation – no full stop or speech punctuation!

    Last Week
I read for 45 minutes to one hour a day. I try to change the books I read lots of Harry Potter- I’m on the sixth book and also read some Diary of a Wimpy Kid but my favourite book of all time is Harry Potter and the Philosophers Stone. I also read some of the book Wonder.

I don’t read one chapter of one book. I read one or two chapters and then read a few chapters of a different book
