Year 2 Explore Gravity

Year 2 Wilkinson Class, we spent the day looking at gravity. We found out about Sir Isaac Newton in English, who made a discovery about gravity after watching an apple fall from a tree. He discovered things will only fall downwards because of gravity. We created a timeline of key points in his life and thought about what he was thinking when he made his discovery.

In the afternoon, we tried to sort objects into the order of lightest to heaviest working in small investigation teams. We then ordered them to show which we thought would fall to the ground slowest to quickest. We showed great team work skills. We then wrote our predictions before carrying out the test and recording our results. Today we practised the key scientific skills of prediction, observation and recording and we had great fun!
