Year 1 (Home Learning) – Tuesday 2nd March

Hello Year 1,

Just a reminder that World Book Day is due to take place virtually this Thursday 4th March.
We set you a half-term activity to create your own costume – Miss Kinsella instructed that your costume must be made of recycled materials, e.g. cardboard boxes, pastic bottles, paper, ect.
Get creative and have lots of fun!

Literacy

  • I can write a diary entry in the correct format.
  • I can describe what I have seen on my trip to London.

Yesterday we got on a bright red, double-decker bus and went on a tour around London.

Today we are going to write a diary entry about what we saw.

When we write a diary, we write in first person – which means you use the personal pronoun, ‘I’.

Look at the entry that Miss Simons wrote in her diary yesterday:

Monday 1st March 2021

Dear Diary,

We have now reached our final week of home learning and I am very excited for the children to come back to school! I have really enjoyed seeing their smiley faces on Zoom every morning and doing our Phonics together online. Today the children went on a pretend journey to London and explored the capital city on a red double-decker bus. I can’t wait to see their word banks of what they saw and where they visited in London.

From,

Miss Simons
