Year 1 (Home Learning) – Tuesday 9th February
Happy Internet Safety Day Year 1,
Safer Internet Day 2021 celebrates the amazing range of information and opportunities online, and its potential to inform, connect and inspire us, whilst also looking at how young people can separate fact from fiction.
Here is the CBBC’s Lockdown Learning schedule for this week:
- The 20 minute Bitesize Daily age 5-7 sessions @ 9:00am will be an additional way of supporting the children’s learning at home.
- We have highlighted all of the Celebrity Supply Teacher sessions, as they are an engaging way of covering all aspects of the curriculum.
- This Tuesday is Internet Safety Day and there will be a Live Lesson to mark this @ 11:00am.

A reminder of the expectations of Home Learning:
- There will be a daily Zoom registration @ 10:40am, during which a member of the Year 1 Team will greet the children and discuss the activities for the day ahead.
- The expectation is for children to be on the daily Zoom registration and engaging with the set activities on our Year 1 Blog – Phonics, Literacy, Maths and a Curriculum subject.
- Please email children’s work across to their class teacher at: yearone@lingsprimary.org.uk

How do you stay safe when searching for something online?
Listen to the story of Detective Digiduck:
What does Wise Owl tell Digiduck to do when you are feeling unsure of something online?
Main Activity:
Write an email to Wise Owl saying what the story has taught you.
This could be from yourselves or from Digiduck.
You could write this by hand using the template (below), or you could use a device to type them too.

PSHE
This week in PSHE, we will be following a unit from Oak Academy called Lockdown Capsule.
We will be creating a lockdown capsule in school, so that the children can send their work to us and we can place it inside the box on their behalf. When we return to school, we plan to bury the lockdown capsule together in the hope that in years to come, people may discover it and find out what life was like for us during these lockdowns.
Follow this lesson from Oak Academy – Playing together but apart:
https://classroom.thenational.academy/lessons/playing-together-but-apart-6hh32c
When you are finished, you might want to send your teachers a video of you playing your ‘safe’ game with an adult/brother or sister(s)!
Enjoy your activities,
Miss Simons, Mrs Roberts and Mrs Billingham : )

Good morning the maths worksheets are not showing up.
Good morning the maths worksheets are not coming up its still the same one from yesterday.
Good Morning Audrey,
Thank you for your comment. The worksheet is the same as yesterday, as the children were to complete questions 1,2,3 and 4 yesterday – and 5 & 6 today. If Scarlett-Rose has completed all of the worksheet, please click here play some online number games with her.
We hope this helps and well done Scarlett-Rose,
Year 1 Team 🙂
