Good morning year 5! I hope you had a good weekend. Has anyone taken up any new hobbies? Or been practising any skills?
This week we are going to start multiplying 2 digits by 2 digits. As with last week, this lesson should take about an hour and a quarter. If you don’t finish by the end don’t panic- we will be continuing with this tomorrow. If you finish today, brilliant, have a go at the challenges and there will be more work tomorrow!

Task 2- remember this task should take about 30 minutes- so I’m expecting detailed answers- with evidence from the text!
Who is Egeus talking to?

Who is Lysander? (How does Egeus feel about him? How do you know? )
Who is Demetrius? (How does Egeus feel about him? How do you know? )
Give one word to describe how he treats Hermia. Explain why you think this.

Spanish- 40 minutes
For our first online Spanish lesson, let’s practise some things we already know- animals and colour.
We can add the verb tengo- I have, and the word porque- because to write a sentence.
Have a work through the website, use the speaker button to listen to and practise your pronunciation.
Can you add a sentence in the blog explaining what pet you have and why? (You can make it up if you don’t have a pet)
Remember- in Spanish the adjective (colour) comes AFTER the noun!
Can you work out what I’ve just said about animals?

Remember- you should be spending some time each week practising any remaining year 3- 4 spellings you need to work on. This list was sent home before the Christmas holidays on paper with the words you need to work on highlighted. Tomorrow we will start continue working on the year 5- 6 word list.
