Welcome back – Tuesday 5th January
Hello everyone,
We hope that you had a wonderful time over Christmas and that you have stayed safe and well during the holidays. We are very sorry not to be in school this week, we were so looking forward to seeing the children. However, we are back online and will have lots of exciting learning for you to do while you remain at home. We will be following the same format that we used while we were isolating in December. Should the time that the school is closed go beyond this week we will be arranging paper packs for the children to use at home and include their phonics packs.

Phonics
So as usual we will start our day with Phonics!
This time we will be providing 3 different groups for phonics, we will have emailed you to let you know which video your child should watch. If you haven’t received this email or are unsure please contact us on reception@lingsprimary.org.uk as the video you do may not be with the same teacher as previously. If your child is finding these to be too challenging then please go back to the blogs from our isolation period and use or revisit other videos.

Main: Counting out from a larger amount. This is something that even children who can count can sometimes struggle with, especially after a holiday. I will demonstrate a few on the video, but as ever, work at the level of your child and either work with greater or smaller amounts.
Speech and Language:
Here is a picture for you to have a good look at and I have a challenge for you when you have had a good look!
I would like you to tell your grown up what you can see in the picture, speak in full sentences starting with “I can see…..”
Then can you answer my question? – would you like to be the girl in the balloon? Don’t answer with a yes or no, tell your grown up why you would or wouldn’t want to be the girl.
Literacy

As always we are here to support your child whether they are learning in school or at home. The children in school will be doing the same activities as the children at home. We will be calling you if we do not see you at the register or on Tapestry to check that you and your child are Ok.
