Year 1 (Home Learning) – Monday 30th November

Welcome back & Happy Monday Year 1,

We hope that you had a fun-filled weekend and are ready for our last three days of home learning!

Information for Parents & Carers:

  • Thank you for supporting your children with their learning at home and we are very grateful for your ongoing cooperation throughout these challenging times. We just want to reemphasize the importance of reading regularly with your children – don’t forget to record any reading in your child’s Reading Record, as we can reward them for this in school at a later date!
  • We will be holding a daily ‘story-time’ Zoom session for the children on Monday (today), Tuesday and Wednesday @ 3:00pm – we hope to see you there!
  • Please check your child’s school email addresses, as Mrs Brookes has sent the children their Chameleon Creates individual codes that you will need should you wish to order anything.
  • Year 1 will be returning to school thisThursday – 3rd DecemberWe are looking forward to seeing all of the children with the work that they have completed whilst isolating.

Here are your activities for the day:

We teach Phonics in groups in Year 1 – Miss Simons, Mrs Brookes/Mrs Roberts and Mrs Sargent each have a Phonics group.

Ask your child which Phonics group they are in and follow the appropriate planning below.
If you are unsure of which Phonics group they are in, then please email us at: yearone@lingsprimary.org.uk

Literacy

What great ideas you came up with to give Mrs Armitage’s bicycle more extra oomph! Some fabulous writing too!

Now lets find out what Mrs Armitage did to power her bicycle.

Read the next few pages

WOW the bicycle looks fabulous! How were your ideas different to Mrs Armitage? Did anyone come up with the same idea?

What do you think is going to happen next? She is going faster and faster ………

Can you write about how you think the story is going to end? What is going to happen to her and her bicycle?

I look forward to seeing your ideas and writing.

Make sure you use a capital letter and a full stop, and leave spaces between words.
