Friendship week

Dear Parents/Carers,

This week was ‘Friendship week’ across the school and in Pre-School was also talked about the celebration of Diwali.

All the children have been very good at sharing and taking turns with games and resources this week.  They all took turns to help the adults prepare and hand out snack..

We talked about how Hindus celebrate Diwali , their Festival of Light,  made diva lamps and decorated their hands, (like the henna patterns).

Outside we have been very active bouncing on the space hoppers, climbing on the climbing frame and lots of drawing with chalk and magic water.  This is to help to build up their core strength and develop their gross and fine motor skills.

In PE this week we went on a bike ride.  The children learnt how to march on the spot lifting their knees up in front of them.  They also hopped on one leg (good for balance) pretending that they had a flat tyre!

We also had great fun splashing in the puddles; thank you to those parents who provided wellington boots for their children.

Last week we introduced ‘Star of the Week’; this week it was Harvey, well done Harvey!

Next week we be sending letters home about Real PE and how you can continue the physical activities at home.

Our topic will be people who help us. Can you talk to your child tell about who helps them?

Have a lovely weekend.

The Pre school team.
