Intra-Schools Level 0 Badminton & Boccia Skills Competition

This year Northampton School Sports Partnership launched a new set of competitions called ‘Intra-School Competitions’ which changes the focus from competition to personal development. During this competition pupils took part in a number of different badminton and boccia themedย  skills games, with the assistance of our new year 5 young leaders. The skills games used were:

  • Move to Collect
  • Hoop Aim
  • Simple Serve
  • Boccia Bowling
  • Shuttle Run
  • Tap Up

The pupils had two attempts at each activity and their score was how much their score changes between their attempts. Within each year group we averaged out each houses overall change in their scores and compared them to gain an overall house winner per year group. These scores were then added to all of the other year groups to give us an overall house winner. The results for the competition were as follows:

  • 1st Place: Water
  • 2nd Place: Fire
  • 3rd Place: Air
  • 4th Place Earth

Which skill game did you enjoy the most and why?

I liked hoop aim, because it amazing to see how much the people scored and if I done it, it would have been exciting but…โ€ฆ.
I like simple serve as well because you have a stop watch and get to get high scores.

I liked “Move to Collect” because I got to use the stopper as I was leading and because it was great for the others in my group. ๐Ÿ˜

I liked hoop aim because I like to see how people’s accuracy on the shots and the power.
I like tap up because I see the technique people use and how much they can get in a certain amount of time.

Hoop aim was fun leading and fun demonstrating because I’m teaching those who don’t no how to play and making them feel confident on doing it by them selfs

I liked hoop aim because you had to work out how short your through would be or how long it would be.
