Supporting your child with reading and writing

We teach phonics everyday using a programme called Soundswrite.  In phonics the children learn the sounds of letters and how to blend them to read words and segment words into sounds to write them.  In this short video I try to show you how to say the sounds and what we do to blend and segment words.

These are a series of lessons using a different scheme to ours but the children will be able to follow them. Click on Reception play all and then start from lesson one from the right hand side.
