Reception’s Learning week commencing 28th September

The children have all coped well coming in full time this week although lots of them were tired today!  We are establishing our routines well.

As you know, we have sent home reading folders this week.  We recommend that you spend time reading with your child (they do the reading or talking!) for just a few minutes several times a week, rather than for a longer period just once.  Reading folders need to be brought into school everyday please.

We have also sent home some name cards for them to trace over (ensuring good letter formation) and some lined paper to practise pencil control.  You do not need to do this for any specified time but we have lots of paper for when you need more!

This weekend’s challenge is to help your child be independent by putting their own coats on and teaching them how to pull the sleeves out if they are inside out.  So many of the children are currently unable to do this.  We teach the children to put their coats on like this:

Congratulations to Roanne and Kai who received our first “Set the Standard” Awards today.

Have a lovely weekend
