Monday 22nd June – Year 1
Good Morning Year 1,
We hope that you had a great weekend. We are still missing you all very much but we really enjoy receiving pictures of your wonderful learning at home … it makes us very proud! Before you get started with your activities today here is an online safety warm-up activity for you to have a go at:
(Click above to visit the site directly)
Here are your first set of activities for the week:
- Sounds-Write Phonics
- Reading/Writing
Today we are starting another brand new story … and this is one of Mrs Robert’s favourites! You might have heard her read it already when she read it as one of our ‘Bedtime Stories’ a few weeks ago.
This is the front cover of our new story:
Can you identify the title? Author? What do you think the story is going to be about?
Let’s read the first few pages …
Can you identify any words that rhyme?
What do the words/phrases, “green caped crusader”, “stupendously swooped” and “descending to earth with a great loop the loop” mean?
Activity: Can you create your own rhyming string? How many words can you think of that rhyme with ‘cat’, ‘plane’ and ‘green’? Record your ideas!
- Maths
Challenge: What is the least amount of coins you can use to make 22p?
Have a great day,
Miss Simons, Mrs Brookes and Mrs Roberts : )
