    Introduction. Henry VIII was King of England from 1509 until his death in 1547. Henry is best known for his six marriages, and, in particular, his effort to have his first marriage, annulled. When he was born? 28 June 1491, Palace of Placentia. When he died? 28 January 1547, Palace of Whitehall, London. He was a bit of a hypochondriac. What Henry VIII liked to do? Henry hired some of Europe’s finest craftsmen and gardeners to transform Hampton Court into a sumptuous Palace. The young King Henry was said to be handsome, clever and fun in contrast to his boring father. He was over six feet tall and loved jousting, hunting, composing music and throwing big, expensive parties! What were Henry VIII interests? Henry threw the javelin and enjoyed hunting,archery, jousting and tennis. He spoke French, Spanish, Latin and some Italian and was a good musician. Henry played the lute and harpsichord well and could sing from sight. Henry VIII lived at Hampton Court Palace in London. What did Henry VIII liked yo eat? Henry is known to have liked quince marmalade and orange pies. In 1534 his household bought an orange strainer, a sign of how often zingy citrus- then a luxury- made its way into his diet.
