Reception Home Learning – Wednesday 20th May

Hello my little artists

Zanti and Robert are leading the way with their pictures.  Here are their paintings inspired by yesterday’s artist Pierre Mondrian.

Are you feeling inspired to draw and paint?  If not, today’s story is about a little girl who said that she couldn’t draw… have a listen to the story.

Speaking

Why do you think Vashti’s teacher asked Vashti to sign her dot picture?  Any why did she frame it and put it on the wall?  Do you like Vashti’s pictures?  Why..or why not?  How did Vashti help the little boy?  What do you think will happen next?

Expressive Art and Design

So the artist’s work we will look at today is an American Artist called Jackson Pollock.  He uses lots of dots on his paintings – in fact he splatters the paint onto his canvas.  Have a look –

Do you like his paintings – please don’t try splatter paint in your paper without your grown up – outside is good.  Don’t forget to sign your picture!

Maths

If you have been doing the home learning this week you will know that we are playing number games.  On Monday we did addition and yesterday subtraction.  Today’s game combines the both.  Please either use a number line or 20 counters to work out the answer.  You may need to re-phrase some of the calculations e.g. ? + 4 = 7.  You say “What do you need to add to 4 to make 7?”.  Please copy the link into your browser

Physical Development

Can you get some paper and screw it up tight and throw it into a big bowl – if you can try again using a smaller bowl or standing further away.

Well done everyone – remember to show me your paintings if you do some .

That’s great news – well done Molly-Mae. I said to mum that I would record her a message on Tapestry but she hasn’t activated her account. Shall I send you a new link on this e-mail address? It’s great to hear from you! Mrs Tucker
