The battle of Hastings was fought on 14th of October 1066 between the Norman-French army of William,the duke of Normandy,and an English army under the Anglo-Saxon King Harold Godwinson , beginning the Norman conquest of England.It took place approximately 7 miles (11kilometres)northwest of Hastings.

In January 1066, the king of
England died. The name of the
King was Edward the Confessor.
There is a tapestry which has a king
handing the crown to the chosen
successor.
William makes his move.
700 ships were sent with William after two days. They sailed
across the English Channel from France. Norman invaders
set about pillaging and burning across the Harbour mouths. The battle won
and was success. It was easy as Harrold raced down the country. They gathered up what
the army can use.

Despite of having 5000 tired Soldiers.
The battle of Hasting was successful
as it spread the army.

On Christmas day, 1066, William was crowned at Westminster Abbey for the impressive work.
