Here are today’s learning activities.
English – Reading
Look at the picture.
What do you know is happening? ‘I know…’
What do you infer is happening? ‘I infer…’
Why do you know/infer this?
Write your responses in full sentences.
English – Writing
Lots of people are showing kindness to one another at the moment.
Has there been an occasion when you have shown kindness to someone? What did you do and why? How did it make you feel?
Has someone shown you kindness? What did they do and why?
Remember to use a conjunction when writing your full sentences.
Sounds Write – Phonics (endings) ‘y into i es’
Review: Read the following Year 2 words – cries, would, flies, because, climb, plant.
Read: hurries, carries, marries, parties.
Write: babies, cities, families, ponies.
Dictation: The party is full of families from many cities. The baby cries loudly so her mum hurries her outside.
Maths Basic Skills
Listen to ‘The Three Times Table Song’ to help you remember.
Can you write the three times table correctly e.g 1×3=
Maths Learning Task
The following children have timed themselves running around the school field.
Who was the quickest?
Who was the slowest?
By how many seconds was Amina faster than Daisy?
By how many seconds was Mo faster than Billy?
What is the difference in seconds between Mo’s time and Jen’s time?
Can you write these as number sentences? What do you notice? Can you see any patterns? Does anything stay the same/change?
Handwriting
Warm up: Wiggle your fingers up high, down low, to the side and in front of you.
Stretch your fingers out like fireworks eight times.
Can you write the following letters joined up at least four times? Remember to leave a finger space.

* top
Tick your neatest formation and be proud of your handwriting.

It is important to stay fit and healthy, especially at the moment.

from the picture i know that one of them was rollerblading and one of them were on their scooter. I know that the boy on the skates was being helped up. I infer that the boy on the skates might have fallen over.

“I know he rolled over off his roller skates and that the other boy helped him up because he is on the floor.
I infer the little boy with the roller skates tripped over one of the poles. he didn’t start crying because he had a helmet on.”
“I writ a letter to the old peoples home to make them feel happy because they aren’t allowed any visitors. It made me feel happy because he writ back to me. He told me everything about him and I drawed a picture and so did he.”

What do you know is happening? ‘I know a little boy fell over and his twin or brother came over to help him up.
What do you infer is happening? ‘I infer his brother is helping with his roller blades.
Why do you know/infer this? Because it is new to him.

Has there been an occasion when you have shown kindness to someone? What did you do and why? How did it make you feel?
Yes – I have been in hospital for nearly a month, doctors and nurses have all cared for me. In return my mummy and i, showed our appreciation by buying small gifts for everyone. My daddy baked a cake, to say thank you for looking after my son.
Has someone shown you kindness? What did they do and why?
Yes – On my first day staying in the hospital, i did not like any of the food. The nurse who was looking after me, the next day she had brought me Pot Noodle from home so that i would eat something.

I know that in the picture the boy was on the floor and the boy needed help so the other boy saw the boy on the floor so he roll skate to the boy and pick him up.
I show kindness to people in need. I give them my clothes because they are special and it makes me happy
