Reception home learning Thurday 26th March

Hello everyone

We hope you are keeping well – remember you can talk to us on here by leaving a comment and we will reply.  Here are today’s activities:

Did you all try out the Joe Wicks PE sessions – he’s live streaming them on his YouTube Channel The Body Coach from 9-9.30am.  A great start to the day.

Speech and Language

A couple of weeks ago we learnt the story of the gingerbread man.  Can you use these pictures to re-tell the story to your grown up?

Remember – Run run as fast as you can, you can’t catch me I’m the gingerbread man.

Literacy – Can you write 5 sentences to re-tell the story. (If your child struggles to do this give them the above sentence and say can not rather than can’t.  They will probably spell gingerbread like this jinjbred – and that is fine!)

Review sounds sent home on the sheet and ff, ll, ss, zz

Practise writing – l, h, t, b – all start from the top solid line

Sounds swap – bill – mill – miss

Read – miss, puff, buzz, box

Write – will, loss, buzz

Dictate – I will buzz.

Read yesterday’s e-book again.

Review  – sh, ch, ng, th, wh, ai, ay

Practise writing v, w and f

Sounds swap – crud – crod – cron -cran

Read – train, pain, say, tray

Write – play, trail, day, spray

Dictate – Play with the tail of the dog.

Read yesterday’s e-book again

Review all the taught sounds – sh, ch, ng, wh, th, qu, ay, ai, ee, e, igh, ie, oa, ow, oo, at

Read – quack, thin, may, loop, igloo, farm, party, cartoon, between, harpoon

Write – fool, broom, harp, sharp

Dictate – The fool had a broom in the igloo shop.

Read yesterday’s e-book again or choose another from the website

In school we normally do the same maths session 2 or 3 times a week so please repeat yesterday’s tasks reminding children to count on or down from a given number out loud.

Understanding the World

As it is sunny, hopefully you can go outside to a garden or outside your front door.  Can you find any of these creatures?

Have fun bug hunting!
