Friday 12.2.2021 Year 3

We have made it to the last day of term! It has been a rollercoaster ride but we made it without losing our enthusiasm or love of learning. We think you all deserve a lovely, relaxing holiday. Thank you once again to our lovely grown ups at home who have been amazing. WHAT A TEAM!

Friday 12

Reading: Take a look at these pictures and then use what you know to help you answer the questions.

  1. If you could have pictured Oberon on the stage which picture would you see and why?
  2. Which picture shows that Oberon has had an argument with Titania and why do you think that?
  3. What do you think Oberon is thinking in the last picture (the one in the red trousers)?
  4. Not all of the pictures show Oberon with wings – what does this tell you about fairies?
  5. Which picture do you think shows that Oberon is the King and he is in charge? Why do you think that?

Writing:

We have spent this half term exploring the four worlds that came together in a Midsummer Night’s Dream – the court, the fairies, the actors in the play and the lovers. You have really understood the play and what happens, especially as most have you have had to this at home. WE WILL KEEP SAYING IT BUT WE ARE SO PROUD OF YOU!

So we would like you show/ tell the whole play from The court scene through to the wedding and we want you to be creative: you could film yourself telling the story, you could use puppets, use other family members, you could create a comic strip, you could use the story telling pot or you could use the story stones we used yesterday. We would love to see your work! BE CREATIVE and show us how amazing you are!

This will be a great way to end the week and this half term!

We cannot wait to see your stories!

Maths skills:

Take a look at this situation and discuss with an adult or older brother or sister. What should you do about this? Who could you talk to about this?

Family Fun challenge for half term:

A DATE FOR THE DIARY: World Book Day is on the Thursday 4th March 2021 and although most of us are working from home, we have set a school challenge. We would like you to design your World Book Day Costume  – please don’t go out and buy an outfit we want you to use clothes and resources you have at home to make your character. It is amazing what you can do with a giant cardboard box. We would like you to create this over half term and wear your outfit on Thursday 4th March 2021 (World Book Day), so we can see them on your zoom register to celebrate world book day virtually. Can’t wait to see your outfits on zoom and you can send pictures of your outfits on World Book Day too.  We can all find something to wear it could even be a mask that you have made! Let’s show the rest of the school how awesome and creative Year 3 can be!

Extra Fun Activities:

https://www.backyardnature.org/  Mrs B has signed up to this! She is going to transform her back garden into a wildlife haven this year and try and grow vegetables too. With a bit of luck it will be like the curious garden from Wednesday’s blog.

This is what her little patch looks like at the moment. Join her in the quest to save nature.

Check out these sites. I will be doing the bird spotting over half term and I will definitely be doing the well being tasks.

Amazing work Om! Remember with the maths if the last number is above 5 it rounds up to the nearest 10 and if it is below you round it down to the nearest 10, for example 83 would round down to 80 because that is the nearest 10. Good online safety work I think that is a very sensible answer. Keep it up!

The last picture would be Oberon because he is wearing a crown made out of flowers and only Kings wear crowns. I think the last picture is the picture was Oberon after he had the argument with the Titania because he looked pretty angry when I saw himself in the picture and he did not look happy . I think Oberon in the last picture is thinking about getting revenge on Titania .The pictures with Oberon without wings remind me that not all fairies have wings.
