Good afternoon,

Today we are going to be learning about conductors and insulators in electricity. Follow the link to the bitesize page to find a video clip and activity.

Write a brief definition of a conductor and insulator with some example materials for each. Comment your 2 sentences on this blog post. If you wanted to challenge yourself, you could create a table of conductors and insulators which you may find at home.

Conductors -some materials let electricity pass through them easily (metals) -steel, copper, gold, silver, iron . Insulators -some materials do not allow electricity to pass through them (plastic ,wood, glass) -bottle, plastic toys, dry wood, oil, glass.

Correct Stani, that’s why the wires to your TV are covered in plastic so you don’t get an electric shock.

A conductor is something made of metal and lets electricity pass through.
A insulator is something not made of metal so electricity cant pass through.
