Year 3 Home learning Thursday 7/1/21

Good morning Year 3! Today is thoughtful Thursday, We wonder how many times today you can do something thoughtful and kind for those around you? Remember kindness is one of the most important qualities we can have. Let’s make today AMAZING!!

Here is the PowerPoint to help you that we used in the zoom meeting this morning.  spring1day3

English

Reading

Here are some pictures of fairies. We may think all fairies look the same but they can be different. Not all fairies have wings. We know Tinkerbell and the Tooth fairy but there are some pictures here that show what other fairies may look like.

Take some time to explore the pictures of these fairies and then answer these questions in full sentences.

  1. Which image do you think shows a bad fairy? Please explain why you think that.
  2. Look at the image of the fairy holding the rose -what kind of fairy do you think they are? Do they their magical powers might be?
  3. What could the fairy in the third picture be holding? Why is it magical?
  4. If you could choose to be one of these fairies, which would you be and why.
  5. How do you know that the last picture is a fairy? Find three clues in the picture to help explain.

Writing:

Now look back at the poem you wrote from the previous day. How can you add the magic of fairies into your poem – What words and phrases could you include to show that your forest is magical? Now write your poem again, make sure you still include some of the lines from yesterday’s poem and now include the magic in the forest.

How has your poem changed now your know the forest is magical?

Why do you think the green fairy doesn’t have magical powers Denzel?
Great math skills work. I think you meant to put 104 and 108 when going up in 4’s not 140 and 180 and the one starting with 124 is going down in 4’s not 2’s 🙂

3- they could be holding some sort of wand
4-i would be the swanone because she looks pretty as a crystal . my sister imaobong told me to use a simile it would make the sentence better

5-3 things are she is probably dancing and she has sevants and she looks like royalty.

I think the 2nd image is a bad fairy because it’s not smiling and it’s very dark around him.
I think the 2nd picture of a fairy is a nature fairy and it can make trees and plants grow or disappear.
In the 3rd picture I think he is holding a wand and it’s magical because it creates frost.
If I was a fairy I would be Iridessa because she is a light fairy and she can create rainbows and she is friends with Tinkerbell.
The last fairy is a fairy because she has a float dress, a crown and it looks like she has wings.

I think that the second image shows an bad fairy because they have horns and have an dark image.

The second image replies the rose as an dark evil kind of love.

What could the fairy in the third picture be holding? Why is it magical?
The background of the fog is kind off representing heaven. He looks very powerful from the stick.

If you could choose to be one of these fairies, which would you be and why.
I would be the third image because the fairy looks very powerful.

        The fairy with the rose might be evil because the rose is not red it’s white so the fairy with the rose is evil. 5 + 5 + 5 = 15 3×5=15 6 + 6 = 12 2×6=12 3+3+3=12 4+4+4+4=12 3×4=12 4×3=12

I hope I didn’t get it wrong from nihal

Do you think only nice fairies have red roses?
Almost perfect maths Nihal, I think you accidentally added one 4 too many and meant to put 4 + 4 + 4 = 12
          Great work!
