Year 2 Home Learning Tasks – Wednesday 15th July

Hi Year 2!

It’s Wednesday which means you are half way through your last week in Year 2. Let’s make today amazing!

Here are today’s activities…

 

English 

Think back over your time in year 2.

What were the best bits?

Create a information page with all of the thing you have done/learnt/enjoyed while you have been a Year 2 pupil.

For example being a 1st class passenger on the Titanic, building bridges with newspaper in Science, or our amazing  celebration assemblies.

You can present it in any way you like.

 

Sounds-Write Phonics –  Focus sound /ee/  spelling <ie> <e-e> 

Review – read the following common exception words: what, when, where, how, why

Read: field, airfield, priest, athlete, concrete, compete

Write: cashier, brownie, glacier, severe, complete, delete

Dictation:  The athlete would compete races on the field. He would eat brownies when he completed his run.

 

Maths – Basic Skills

Can you spot and correct the mistakes?

Warm up: Wiggle your fingers up high, down low, to the side and in front of you.
Stretch your fingers out like fireworks nine times.

Can you write the following Common Exception Words joined up at least six times? Remember to leave a finger space.

Tick your neatest formation and be proud of your handwriting.
