Monday 13th July – Year 5

Happy Monday morning year 5 – our last week as Year 5!

I hope that you have all had a wonderful weekend and hopefully the weather will improve this week. Here are your tasks for today:

ICT – Safety at Home

Discuss the following scenario with an adult at home:

Spellings

Here are your spelling words this week:

correspond, interrupt, aggressive, necessary, harass, embarrass, address, possession, possible, exaggerate

Do you notice any patterns in the words this week?

As usual, practise the words at least 3 times. If an adult is available at home, get them to test you on the words before you practise. Then put each word into a sentence – be imaginative with your sentences!

Over the Summer holidays, continue to practise both Year 3/4 words and Year 5/6 words so that you ready and prepared for September. Also remember that you only need to practise the words that you don’t know!

Reading

Read the following text about one of our nation’s heroes – Captain Tom Moore.

Now see how you get on answering the following questions:

Maths

Last week, you began looking quadrilaterals. We will finish this off today, before moving onto 3-D shape. Look at the following lesson:

https://classroom.thenational.academy/lessons/to-describe-the-properties-of-diagonals-of-quadrilaterals

Let me know what you have learnt today.

Spanish

Your Spanish lesson today will focus on being able to describe your physical appearance.

Have fun today!

Take care,

Mrs Millard and Mrs Munro XX

Good advice Dan – you shouldn’t bid on anything signed in as someone else – unless they agree.

      Hi Lydia,

Don’t worry – I know how hard you work!
I can’t believe it’s our last week either – I am going to miss you all more than you know! We have loved teaching you – we won’t be far away in September so at least we’ll still see you.

      Great work today.
You’re right – a square is a rhombus. A special type of rhombus though as it has 4 right angles.

I loved your spelling sentences – they are always imaginative.
